Visit Stichting Historische Verbrandingsmotoren Papendrecht
The Historic Foundation Combustion Engines Papendrecht (SHVP) was founded in 2012. However, the engine collection goes way back to the beginning of the last century. The engines are kept in condition by a small group of volunteers. This is passion for technology!
It is now a collection of over 30 authentic internal combustion engines from ABC to Werkspoor. Around 1882, Rudolf Diesel planned to develop an engine with much higher efficiency than the steam engine. An important milestone was reached in 1894 when Rudolf Diesel’s first prototype ran for the first time for about one minute.
A large number of engines will be started during the tour.
