On October 11, 2024 representatives of the KNVTS (the jury chairman Koos Zitman and Main Board member Peter Wehrmeijer), in the run-up to the Maritime Awards Gala on November 4 in Hilversum, presented the second charter certificate and accompanying recitals to the representatives (Thijs van der Schaaf and Leendert Hogendoorn) of the Holland Shipyards shipyard in Hardinxveld-Giesendam.
It concerns the GORINCHEM XII, a super light emission ferry developed for the municipality of Gorinchem. With this ship, Holland Shipyards has been nominated for the “Ship of the Year Award 2024.” The certificate and recitals contribute to a positive international image of the shipyard and Dutch Shipbuilding. The next and final certificate will be awarded the following month to Royal Huisman for the sailing yacht SARISSA. The final winner of the “Ship of the Year Award 2024,” will be announced at the Maritime Awards Gala on Nov. 4.
