Wednesday 21st of October
This lecture will be given in English.
Speakers: Victor Candotti, Naval Architect and Bastiaan van den Berg, Lead Naval Architectanup
Bluewaters FPSO ‘Aoka Mizu’ is currently in operation in one of the harshest environments on earth at the Lancaster field located West of Shetlands. Over the last years many people have contributed to find solutions for the challenges that this location brings to ensure safe operations of the vessel and its crew.
To suit the field conditions, the hull of the Aoka Mizu was strengthened, green water protections were added, and a new turret buoy and mooring system were constructed. On top of that, a sophisticated monitoring system is installed.
During the KNVTS lecture, an overview of the main activities is presented, from engineering to construction, to offshore installation. Special attention will be given to the model tests and green water analysis.
A short biography:
- Victor Candotti joined Bluewater in 2014 for a traineeship. He rapidly developed into a highly skilled analytical Naval Architect with his main focus in the field of hydrodynamics and structural strength. Apart from analytical support on the Aoka Mizu project, Victor played an active role in the model test campaign at Marin.
- Bastiaan van den Berg started his career in 1998 at Nevesbu, and is working for Bluewater since 2005. In the role of Lead Naval Architect, Bastiaan contributed to the recent Aoka Mizu project with his critical common sense approach and creative solutions.
This lecture will be given in form of a webinar. For the first time, KNVTS Amsterdam will team up with Youngship Rotterdam for the organisation of the lecture. More information will follow on the website.
