This lecture will be given in English.
Speaker: Dr. Lars Molter, CEO/naval architect at Hyconnect GmbH
FAUSST is a novel joining technology based on a hybrid fabric made from metal- and reinforcement fibres.
The fabric locks both materials on fibre level while it is also weldable by having a pure metal-fibre part. Welding one or several of the FAUSST fabrics to a metal profile creates connectors that can be integrated to the lamination process of the composite structures. The result is a strong connection between the composite structure and the metal profile while the latter can be welded to a surrounding metal structure.
About the presenter: Dr. Lars Molter, naval architect, with more than ten years’ experience in the field of developments in the maritime sector. After sailing in the German Navy, he worked in the maritime industry and research with focus on lightweight structures and joining technologies. 2018 he founded Hyconnect in Hamburg, Germany and started the further development and commercialization of a novel hybrid joining technology for fibre reinforced polymers and metals: FAUSST.
